Titans Pilipinas outdueled Vanta Black Dragons in a high-scoring affair, 118-111, to cap an interesting four-game bill in The Asian Tournament Leg 2 Friday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
The frontcourt duo of Tosh Sesay and Henry Iloka and the added firepower of Mark Doligon, Teytey Teodoro and John Caspe proved to be enough for Titans Pilipinas in carving out its fourth win in five games.
Both Sesay and Iloka came away with double-double performances.
Sesay, a former player of the University of Cebu Webmasters, poured in 34 points and 18 rebounds.
Iloka, another familiar fixture in the Philippine basketball circuit, contributed 16 points on top of 15 boards.
But the reinforcements of Titans Pilipinas were also able to get the much needed support from Doligon, who knocked in 20 points, Teodoro had 15 and Caspe chipped in 11 as the team’s balance firepower proved to be decisive in its latest win.
Following Titans’ win, the team will battle The Aces in a knockout game to determine which squad will occupy the Top 2 in Group A.
“This game is very important to us, soi I have to come out aggressive to get ourselves to the semifinals,” said Sesay. “All we need is a good rest and come out and play with the same level of game.”
